Preuss played for VfB Stuttgart
DURHAM, N.H. – The University of New Hampshire men's soccer program has announced the signing of freshman defender Laurin Preuss (Kirchheim Teck, Germany).
"Laurin is a left footed defender from VfB Stuttgart in Germany, where fellow Wildcat and AE Freshman of the Year, Max Voigt, also played," said head coach Rich Weinrebe. "Laurin has nine caps for the German youth national team for the U16 and U17 age groups, which speaks to his strong background. We are thrilled to bring in someone of his ability to our defensive group. Laurin is excellent driving with the ball at his feet, has a strong tactical understanding out of possession, and a well-rounded skill set that will push the level of our group and impact our team quickly."
Preuss was a member of VfB Stuttgart from 2016-25 in the Junior Bundesliga where the team won numerous tournaments.
Prior to VfB Stuttgart, Preuss played for Kirchheim Teck in Landesstaffel where he won many Best Player of the Tournament awards. His team also defeated FC Bayern.
He graduated high school from Schlossgymnasium in 2024.
The Wildcats will start the season at home versus Boston University on Thursday, Aug. 21 at 3 p.m.
