Fukodome is transferring from Cowley College
DURHAM, N.H. – The University of New Hampshire men's soccer program has announced the signing of junior back Kohsuke Fukodome (Chiba, Japan). Fukodome is a transfer from Cowley College.
"Kohsuke Fukudome is a technically gifted player capable of dictating the pace of the game both on and off the ball," said head coach Rich Weinrebe. "He excels at maintaining possession under pressure, breaking lines with his passing, and linking defense with attack. Beyond his technical ability, Kohsuke brings physicality, toughness and passion—qualities that will translate well in the America East. We're thrilled he's joining us this spring and can't wait to start working with him."
Fukudome played two seasons at Cowley College where he appeared in 32 games with two goals. The team was the national championship runner-up in 2024. He was named to the 2024 All-America Second Team, while he was the 2024 Conference Defensive Player of the Year and earned first team All-Conference accolades.
He played his club soccer at Kashima Gakuen High School from 2020-2023. He earned All-Japan High School Championship Team accolades from 2020-23. He was the team's second captain in 2022-23. The team won the Ibaraki Championship from 2020-23. Fukodome graduated from Kashima Gakuen High School in 2023.
