DURHAM, N.H. – The University of New Hampshire men's soccer program has announced the signing of junior midfielder Ryo Miyata (Yokohama, Japan). Miyata is transferring from Murray State College and was named a First Team All-American.
"Ryo is a creative and intelligent player that can be a difference maker in the attacking third," said head coach Rich Weinrebe. "He not only has the ability to create chances for others, but he can also score goals in a variety of ways. He makes others better, and puts teammates in good positions to be successful, which will unlock things for our talented attacking core. We are extremely excited to see what he can do at Wildcat Stadium this fall."
Miyata earned NJCAA Division I First Team All-America honors for the 2024 season at Murray State College. He recorded a team-best 14 assists, which was the fourth-most in the NJCAA, while he also was second on the team in goals as he registered eight. Miyata led the team with 30 points as the Aggies won a program-record 18 games, and captured a Region 2 Championship, Mid-South Men's Soccer District Championship and made their second straight appearance in the National Tournament.
As a freshman, Miyata tallied 11 goals and four assists for 26 points as he totaled 19 goals and 18 assists for 56 points for his two seasons at Murray State College.
Prior to his time at Murray State College, Miyata played for Shonan Bellmare from 2020-22.
