Matimano has played for Seacoast United and New England Revolution
DURHAM, N.H. – The University of New Hampshire men's soccer program has announced the signing of freshman midfielder Gershom Matimano (Manchester, N.H.).
"Gershom joins us from Manchester, New Hampshire with an impressive youth background, having developed with both the New England Revolution and, most recently, Seacoast United," said head coach Rich Weinrebe. "A dynamic midfielder, he brings infectious energy and a strong work rate on both sides of the ball. We believe Gershom will be a valuable addition to our team and has the potential to make a significant impact here at UNH."
Matimano is currently a member of Seacoast United of MLS NEXT where he previously played from 2020-22. He was a team captain in 2021-22 as he tallied nine goals and 11 assists for 29 points, while he totaled four goals and seven assists for 15 points during 2020-21.
Before returning to Seacoast United, Matimano was a member of the New England Revolution of MLS NEXT from 2022-25. During the 2023-24 season he played in 16 games with six goals and eight assists for 20 points.
Matimano played his freshman year at Manchester Central High School in 2021 where he was named the team's Freshman of the Year as he recorded nine goals and eight assists for 26 points.
Matimano is a 2025 graduate of the Center of Excellence.
