Moise Bombito Named to Team Canada’s FIFA World Cup Roster

Canada to start World Cup action on June 12 vs. Bosnia and Herzegovina
OTTAWA – Former University of New Hampshire men's soccer All-American Moise Bombito (2022) has been named to the Canadian Men's National Team roster for the FIFA World Cup. The team is a member of Group B and will take on Bosnia and Herzegovina (June 12), Qatar (June 18) and Switzerland (June 24) in the group stage of the 48-team World Cup. The top two teams from each of the 12 groups and the eight best third-place teams will advance to the Round of 32.
Bombito has played in several major tournaments with Team Canada, including 2024 Copa América and 2023 CONCACAF Gold Cup.
Bombito is currently a member of Nice in Ligue 1, the top league in France where he has played starting in 2024. He was drafted in the first round of the 2023 MLS SuperDraft by the Colorado Rapids as the third overall pick. He was the first player in program history to be picked in the first round.
As a UNH Wildcat in the 2022 season, Bombito was named a second team All-American and was a semifinalist for the MAC Hermann Trophy. He won the 2022 America East and ECAC Defender of the Year Awards and earned first team All-America East and ECAC accolades. He tied for third on the team with four goals and tied for second with two game winners. Prior to competing for the Wildcats, he earned 2021 All-America accolades at Iowa Western Community College.
Bombito was the first Wildcat to be named a member of the MLS Generation adidas class which is a joint program between MLS and adidas that sees a handful of top collegiate underclassmen and youth national team players signed by MLS to Generation adidas contracts and made available in the SuperDraft.
