Serbousek's 14 Kills Lifts UNH Past Power 5 School Boston College, 3-1

DURHAM, N.H. – Hannah Serbousek (Fort Collins, Colo.) recorded a match-high 14 kills to lead the University of New Hampshire volleyball team to Wednesday night's 3-1 victory against Boston College at Lundholm Gym. The set scores were 25-20, 18-25, 25-22, 27-25.
Serbousek's other stats included three blocks and a service ace to lead all players with 18.0 points; she also had seven digs.

Kelly Kaufmann (Raleigh, N.C.) and Meredith Hohnbaum (Indianapolis, Ind.) finished with 10 kills apiece. Kaufmann recorded a match-high .474 hitting percentage and three blocks; Hohnbaum added two blocks.
Camryn Honn (Overland Park, Kan.) led all players with 25 assists and Jessica Shattles (Ponte Vedra Beach, Calif.) tallied 20 assists. Avery LePore (Franklin, Tenn.), the reigning America East Defensive Specialist of the Week, was credited with a match-high 22 digs.
UNH won its second consecutive match to improve to 3-1 overall and hand BC its first loss of the season in three matches.

SET 1
- UNH won the first three points and never trailed in the first set. A kill by Kaufmann, combined block by Kaurmann and Marisa Armer (Bradenton, Fla.) and block by Serbousek gave the Wildcats that early 3-0 lead.
- BC rallied to tied the score at 3-3 and 4-4, but then back-to-back kills by Armer and Alysa Wright (Wayne, Pa.) helped put the Wildcats surge back in front, 7-4.
- Leading 15-13, UNH went on a 4-0 run – Hohnbaum recorded a kill and block assist during the spurt – to extend the advantage to 19-13.
- The Eagles inched within 21-18 and the teams exchanged points to advance the score to 23-20 before kills by Serbousek and Wright ended Set 1.
SET 2
- Trailing 7-6, BC reeled off eight points to build a commanding 14-7 lead.
- Serbousek's service ace lifted the 'Cats within 20-15 before the Eagles won consecutive point to inch ahead, 22-15.
- UNH went on a 3-1 spurt to trim the deficit to 23-18, but the visitors won the next two points to level the match at one set apiece.
SET 3
- There were 11 ties and four lead changes in the third set.
- Trailing 15-12, Boston College went on a 4-0 run to surge back in front, 16-15.
- With BC ahead 19-17, UNH reeled off five consecutive points – four on BC errors – to regain the lead, 22-19.
- After the Eagles closed within 22-21, Armer recorded a kill and block assist with Kaufmann to give the Wildcats set point at 24-21.
- BC fended off one set point but then lost Set 3 on a service error.
SET 4
- There were 20 ties and nine lead changes in the final set.
- UNH build a 7-4 lead but BC rallied to go ahead 9-8.
- A 3-0 run by the Eagles gave the visitors a 16-14 advantage.
- A combined block by Wright and Armer was followed by another Serbousek block to level the score, 16-16.
- The teams exchanged points to advance the score to 21-20 in UNH's favor.
- BC won the next two points to reclaim the lead, 22-21 and held set point at 24-23 but a service error extended the set.
- Hohnbaum and Wright combined for a block to give UNH match point at 25-24, but the Eagles won the next point.
- Back-to-back kills by Hohnbaum ended the set at 27-25 and match, 3-1.
