Feliciano led Wildcats to first America East Championship since 2016
DURHAM, N.H. – The University of New Hampshire and women's volleyball head coach Christopher Feliciano, have agreed to a three-year contract extension effective January 1, 2025, as announced today by Director of Athletics Allison Rich.
Feliciano, who has transformed the program since his arrival in 2019, will enter his seventh season as head coach in 2025, following a historic 2024 campaign that saw the Wildcats capture their first America East Championship title since 2016 and earn an automatic bid to the NCAA Tournament.
"In his first six seasons, Christopher Feliciano has instilled a championship culture that returned UNH Volleyball to our rightful place at the top of the America East Conference," said Rich. "We are excited to see our student-athletes continue to strive for excellence under his leadership and look forward to watching them reach new heights on the court, in the classroom, and in the community."
Since becoming the Wildcats' seventh head coach on March 12, 2019, Feliciano has led the team to consistent success, with the program finishing third or higher in the America East regular season standings. Under his leadership, the Wildcats have made the America East playoffs in all six seasons, highlighted by their 2024 America East Championship victory.
With a career NCAA coaching record of 343-223 (.606) over 19 years, including a 95-54 (.637) record at UNH, Feliciano has proven to be one of the most accomplished coaches in the region.
"My family and I are grateful to remain in New Hampshire for the foreseeable future," Feliciano said. "The success of this program is a testimony to the collective effort of our players and coaching staff along with the support of the community and alumni."
Feliciano's impressive coaching career includes leading multiple programs to success and earning numerous accolades. Before joining UNH, he spent eight seasons as the head coach at Rider University, becoming the winningest coach in program history with 117 victories. At New Jersey City University (NJCU), he guided the team to its first-ever NCAA Division III tournament appearance and was inducted into the NJCU Athletics Hall of Fame in 2020. Feliciano's accolades include being named to the AVCA '30 Under 30' list in 2009, earning multiple Coach of the Year honors such as NJAC Coach of the Year in 2007 and NECVA Metro Division Coach of the Year in 2006, and being invited to the NIVC in 2019, 2022, and 2023.
Beyond coaching, Feliciano has contributed at the national level.
