UNH Volleyball Announces Captains for 2024 Season

Kaufmann, Purcell and Serbousek are second-year captains
DURHAM, N.H. – Grad students Kelly Kaufmann (Raleigh, N.C.) and Hannah Serbousek (Fort Collins, Colo.) as well as seniors Marisa Armer (Bradenton, Fla.) and Shea Purcell (Shaker Heights, Ohio) have been named captains of the 2024 University of New Hampshire volleyball team.
The announcement was made Friday by UNH sixth-year head coach Christopher Feliciano.
Armer, a 6-foot-1 right side hitter, played all 27 matches – and in 94 of 100 sets – with 16 starts last season. She ranked third on the team in kills (161) as well as both blocks (58) and blocks per set (0.62). Armer also ranked fourth in both kills per set (1.71) and points (191.5), and fifth in points per set (2.04).
Kaufmann, a 6-2 middle blocker, was named to both the America East All-Conference Team and All-Academic Team for the second time in 2023. She ranked second on the team in both kills (195) and kills per set (1.95) on the strength of a team-high .295 hitting percentage.
Kaufmann, the only Wildcat to start all 27 matches and play in all 100 sets, led the team in block assists (87) and ranked second in solo blocks (10), total blocks (97) and blocks per set (0.97). She was also second in points (248.5) and third in points per set (2.49).
On the America East conference leaderboard, Kaufmann ranked third in hitting percentage, fifth in blocks and sixth in blocks per set.
Purcell is a 6-foot outside hitter who saw action in five matches a year ago.
Serbousek, another 6-foot outside hitter, was an All-Conference First Team selection in 2023 after being named to the Second Team each of the previous two years. She was also named to the conference's All-Academic Team in '23.
Serbousek, who started all 26 matches in which she played, ranked sixth in America East in kills (274) and seventh in kills per set (2.88), points (317) and points per set (3.34). She was atop UNH's leaderboard in kills, kills per set, points and points per set. Serbousek also ranked second in service aces (28) and third in digs (222).
