Four Members of the UNH Volleyball Team Named to Academic All-District Team

DURHAM, N.H. – Graduate Student captain Hannah Serbousek (Fort Collins, Colo.), graduate student captain Kelly Kaufmann (Raleigh, N.C.), junior right side hitter Meredith Hohnbaum (Indianapolis, Ind.), and sophomore middle blocker Rachel Grier (Dublin, Calif.) of the University of New Hampshire women's volleyball team have been named to the 2024 College Sports Communicators Academic All-District Team.
Serbousek, Kaufmann, and Grier were also selected as CSC Academic All-America finalists and advanced to the national ballot. The first-, second-, and third-team Academic All-America honorees will be announced on Tuesday, January 14, 2025.
The honor recognizes the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performances on the field and in the classroom.
Serbousek started in every match she played in this season (24 out of 25 games) where she averaged an impressive 2.68 kills per set (seventh in America East) and 3.14 points per set (eighth in America East). She also ranked sixth in the America East for digs per set (3.10). The graduate student's 3.70 GPA in her Health Sciences major also earned her a spot on the America East All-Academic Team for the second year in a row. Serbousek recorded two America East Player of the Week awards this season and surpassed 1,000 kills in her final regular season game as a Wildcat.
Kaufmann played and started in every match this season where she ranked first in the America East in hitting percentage (.346) and blocks per set (1.28). Her impressive 3.98 GPA in her Exercise Science major earned her a spot on the America East All-Academic Team for the third year in a row. Kaufmann also earned a Defensive Specialist of the Week award this season (10.8.24).
Hohnbaum earned a spot on the America East All-Academic Team with a GPA of 3.91. She ranked eighth in hitting percentage (.260) and sixth in blocks per set (0.99). Hohnbaum was also named America East Player of the Week on September 4th.
Grier had a perfect 4.0 GPA. She started in 24 out of the 25 matches she played in this season while ranking third in hitting percentage (.300) and third in blocks per set (1.22) in the America East. Grier was also named America East Player of the Week on November 5th.
The Wildcats concluded the season with an 18-10 overall record and a 7-3 mark in the conference. UNH won its eighth America East Championship and earned a bid to the NCAA Tournament for the eighth in program history (first time since 2016).
