Ski Earns Two Second Place Team Finishes as Nordic Action Concludes at St. Michael’s Carnival

Luci Anderson led the Wildcats with a fourth place finish.
RIPTON, Vt. – Senior Luci Anderson (Golden Valley, Minn.) placed fourth and senior Scott Schulz (Lake Plad, N.Y.) was fifth in the 15K classic on Saturday at Rikert Touring Center to lead the University of New Hampshire ski team on the last day of Nordic competition at the St. Michael's Carnival. The Alpine events of the St. Michael's Carnival will take place on Friday and Saturday, Feb. 3-4 at Smugglers' Notch.
Both the men's and women's teams placed second in the 15K classic. UNH is currently in third place overall out of 14 teams with 375 points. Vermont leads the carnival with 506 points, while Middlebury is second (432), Dartmouth is fourth (299) and Bowdoin is fifth (298).

RESULTS
The women's team placed second with 104 points as the Wildcats had three athletes finish in the top 15. Anderson totaled 41 points with her fourth-place finish in a time of 48:05.9. Junior Lea Stabaek Wenaas (Oslo, Norway) was sixth (48:44.7) earning 37 points, while sophomore Georgianna Fischer (Bozeman, Mont.) tallied 26 points placing 15th (50:01.6). Junior Alice House (Madison, Wis.) also posted a top 20 finish at 17th (50:40.7).
The men's team tied for second place with 93 points. Schulz led UNH as he tallied 39 points with a fifth-place finish (42:51.4). Sophomore Eli Gore (Madison, Wis.) secured 28 points placing 14th (43:31.6), while sophomore Roger Anderson (Golden Valley, Minn.) recorded 26 points with a 16th place finish (43:34.1).
