Wildcats Finish Fourth at Middlebury Carnival

RIPTON, Vt. – Junior Tilde Kandell (Leksand, Sweden) secured a sixth-place finish in the giant slalom, clocking in at 2:04.15 to earn 37 points and lead the University of New Hampshire ski team on the final day of the Middlebury Carnival.
As a team, UNH placed fourth overall with 660.5 points, trailing UVM (722.5), Middlebury (877.5) and Dartmouth (898).
Graduate student Bella Amico (Bronxville, N.Y.) earned 29 points for finishing in 11th place (2:04.63), while senior Gaia Palamara (Verona, Italy) added 23 points (17th, 2:05.28).
For the men, freshman Jayden Buckrell (Collingwood, Ontario) collected 21.5 points for a 22nd-place finish (2:01.57). Graduate students Robert Underhill (Newbury, N.H.) and Hayden Dahl (Plymouth, N.H.) came in 24th (2:01.63) and 26th (2:01.71), respectively, to earn a combined 39 points.
In Nordic action, senior Roger Anderson (Golden Valley, Minn.) secured seventh place for finishing the 10K classic interval start in 25:17.2 to earn 35 points.
Graduate student Charles Martell (Exeter, N.H.) placed 17th (25:52.1), adding 25 points, while freshman Ben Oldham (Carbondale, Colo.) collected 22 points for 22nd place (26:05.2).
Graduate student Jasmine Lyons (Ottawa, Ontario) led the women, placing 10th with a time of 29:42.8 to earn 33 points.
Freshman Alexandra Luxmoore (Revelstoke, British Columbia) added 29 points for her 13th-place finish (30:08.2), while junior Hattie Barker (Underhill, Vt.) contributed 23 points (23rd, 31:15.3).

- The University of New Hampshire ski team returns to action Feb. 21-22 for the UNH Carnival as the Wildcats host the EISA Championships/NCAA East Regionals.
