Three Wildcats Podium on Day One at Middlebury

RIPTON, Vt. – Freshman Jayden Buckrell (Collingwood, Ontario) secured a second-place finish in the slalom, clocking in at 1:31.56 to earn 47 points and lead the University of New Hampshire ski team on the opening day of the Middlebury Carnival.
Freshman Hunter Roach (Vail, Colo.) and junior Zachary Temertzoglou (Toronto, Ontario) finished 22nd (1:33.63) and 24th (1:33.73), respectively, combining for 39 points.
On the women's side, junior Hedda Martelleur (Uppsala, Sweden) secured a podium finish, placing third in 1:36.72 to earn 44 points.
Junior Tilde Kandell (Leksand, Sweden) finished 13th (1:38.06) for 27 points, while senior Zoe Michael (Sydney, Australia) contributed 19 points with a 26th-place finish (1:40.82).
In Nordic action, graduate student Jasmine Lyons (Ottawa, Ontario) secured a podium finish for the second straight week, placing third in the classic sprint with a time of 4:00.57 to earn 44 points.
Freshman Alexandra Luxmoore (Revelstoke, British Columbia) added 26 points for her 17th-place finish (3:53.17), while fellow freshman Aurora Stiles (Jackson Hole, Wyo.) contributed 23 points for 22nd place (4:04.59).
For the men, freshman Ben Oldham (Carbondale, Colo.) led the way with a 12th-place finish (3:22.12, 28 points). Senior Roger Anderson (Golden Valley, Minn.) placed 17th (3:24.14, 24 points), senior Eli Gore (Madison, Wis.) finished 18th (3:24.80, 23 points), and graduate student Charles Martell (Exeter, N.H.) placed 19th (3:25.00).
As a team, UNH sits fourth overall with 344 points, trailing UVM (356.5), Dartmouth (432), and Middlebury (438.5).
