DURHAM, N.H. – UNH 19th-year head alpine ski coach and 2025 USCSCA Alpine Coach of the Year Brian Blank announced the hire of former Wildcat student-athlete Bella Amico as assistant alpine ski coach. Amico, who skied for the Wildcats as a grad student in 2025, spent four seasons as a member of the Saint Lawrence University Ski Program.
In her lone year as a Wildcat, while studying toward her MBA, Amico delivered a strong season on the slopes, consistently competing at a high level across multiple carnivals. Her standout performance came at the Saint Michael's Carnival, where she placed 10th in the giant slalom. She also secured an impressive 11th-place finish in the GS at the Middlebury Carnival. At Dartmouth, she placed 19th in the GS and 33rd in the slalom. Her competitive edge continued at the St. Lawrence Carnival with a 21st-place finish in the SL, and she capped off the season by placing 31st in the slalom at the EISA Championships/NCAA East Regionals, hosted by UNH.
"We're thrilled to welcome Bella Amico to our coaching staff," said Blank. "Bella brought incredible energy, leadership, and competitiveness to our team as a graduate student-athlete in 2025, and it was clear she had the qualities to make a great coach. Her passion for the sport and her ability to connect with our student-athletes make her an ideal fit for this role. I'm excited to see the impact she'll have on our program moving forward."
Amico was a two-time team MVP and three-time USCSCA All-Academic Team member for Saint Lawrence, for whom she raced from 2021-24. As a senior captain in 2024, Amico registered a 13th- and 14th-place finish at NCAA Regionals, a 16th-place finish in the giant slalom at UVM and a 17th-place finish in the GS at Dartmouth. In 2023, Amico posted three top-15 and seven top-25 finishes for the Saints, including a season-best 10th-place finish in the GS at St. Lawrence's home carnival.
