Buckrell Wins Slalom, UNH Takes Third at EISA Championships/NCAA Regionals

FRANCONIA, N.H. – Freshman Jayden Buckrell (Collingwood, Ontario) won the slalom with a time of 1:28.18 to lead the University of New Hampshire ski team on the final day of the UNH Carnival – EISA Championships/NCAA East Regionals.
Buckrell's victory secured 50 points for the Wildcats and earned him Alpine Rookie of the Year honors. Men's Alpine finished second to propel UNH to a third-place overall team finish with 750 points, trailing Vermont (792) and Dartmouth (982).
Freshman Hunter Roach (Vail, Colo.) placed sixth in 1:29.20 to earn 37 points, while junior Zachary Temertzoglou (Toronto, Ontario) followed in seventh at 1:29.27, contributing 35 points.
On the women's side, junior Tilde Kandell (Leksand, Sweden) paced the Wildcats with a fifth-place finish in 1:35.76, earning 39 points. Senior Zoe Michael (Sydney, Australia) took ninth place in 1:37.40 to add 31 points, and graduate student Bella Amico (Bronxville, N.Y.) finished 31st (1:42.52) for 15 points.
In Nordic competition, graduate student Jasmine Lyons (Ottawa, Ontario) secured a runner-up finish in the 20K freestyle with a time of 39:20.4, earning 47 points for the Wildcats.
Junior Hattie Barker (Underhill, Vt.) placed ninth in 39:43.5 to add 31 points, while freshman Alexandra Luxmoore (Revelstoke, British Columbia) contributed 23 points with a 22nd-place finish (40:44.0).
On the men's side, graduate student Charles Martell (Exeter, N.H.) led the Wildcats with a seventh-place finish in 35:26.8, collecting 35 points. Freshman Ben Oldham (Carbondale, Colo.) took 14th place in 35:53.7 to earn 26 points, while senior Roger Anderson (Golden Valley, Minn.) placed 17th in 35:57.7 for 24 points.
Buckrell and junior Hedda Martelleur (Uppsala, Sweden) were named to the First Team All-East, while Isac Hedstroem earned Second Team All-East honors. Lyons and freshman Clara Hegan (Ottawa, Ontario) were named to the Nordic All-East team, while Anderson earned All-East for the men. Hegan also secured Rookie of the Year honors.
