Martelleur Wins Slalom as Wildcats Finish Second at Saint Michael’s Carnival

JEFFERSONVILLE, Vt. – Junior Hedda Martelleur (Uppsala, Sweden) captured first place in the slalom to lead the University of New Hampshire ski team on the second and final day of the Saint Michael's Carnival.
UNH finished second as a team with 718 points, trailing only Dartmouth (888).
Martelleur clocked in at 1:53.16 to earn 50 points for her victory.
Freshman Dasha Romanov also earned a podium finish in the slalom, finishing in 1:54.22 for third place and 44 points. Junior Tilde Kandell (Leksand, Sweden) rounded out the scoring with 29 points for finishing 11th (1:57.09).
For the men, freshman Jayden Buckrell (Collingwood, ON, Canada) claimed third place, crossing the finish line in 1:55.86 to secure 47 points.
Graduate student Robert Underhill (Newbury, N.H.) secured a top-10 finish, placing ninth in 1:56.49. Graduate student Hayden Dahl (Plymouth, N.H.) added 20 points for 20th place (1:57.92), while junior Zachary Temertzoglou (Toronto, ON, Canada) finished 25th (1:58.95).
In Nordic action, the 3x5K relay team of freshman Ben Oldham (Carbondale, Colo.), senior Eli Gore (Madison, Wis.), and senior Roger Anderson (Golden Valley, Minn.) took home 77 points for a fifth-place finish (41:24.9).
The women's relay of graduate student Jasmine Lyons (Ottawa, Ontario, Canada), junior Emma Charles (Farmington, Maine), and junior Hattie Barker (Underhill, Vt.) placed sixth with a time 47:26.6, earning 77 points.
