HOW IT HAPPENED:
- Ally Reynolds (Weymouth, Mass.) got a change early on in the game as she dribbled the ball to the top of the 18 in the sixth minute and fired a high arcing shot; it was just slightly too high and bounced off the crossbar, down, and out to be cleared away.
- Stony Brook managed three early shots on goal, the third of which came in the 19th minute as a Stony Brook striker dribbled into the right side of the 18-yard box. A tough-angle shot was headed for the lower left corner of the goal but Cat Sheppard (Nesconset, N.Y.) dove to close the gap and make the save.
- In the 24th minute play was stopped due to unplayable field conditions, with heavy rainfall pooling on the turf. Play resumed after two hours and 15 minutes of field draining.
- In the 36th minute Reynolds dribbled the ball up the right sideline and crossed the ball into the box. The cross took Stony Brook 'keeper Sofia Manner out of position but a clear shot couldn't be taken and an attempt was blocked away by the Seawolves, keeping the score 0-0.
- The Seawolves broke the tie in the 57th minute as a free kick from about 30 yards out that bounced through the defense and deflected off a Stony Brook foot, finding the lower left corner of the net.
- Reynolds re-entered the game and immediately charged down the field for a scoring chance, but her attempt was saved by Manner moving towards the center of the net.
- Stony Brook extended its lead in the 68th minute as a clear out of the UNH 18 was blocked by the Seawolves and it ricocheted to the foot of Rachel Florenz who redirected it to the left side of the net for the 2-0 lead.
- In the 83rd minute the Wildcats had their third corner kick in the span of two minutes; after an initial clear the ball went out to Sofia Borea (Oakville, Ontario) who fired a shot on net that was collected by Manner.
- New Hampshire kept the pressure on in the final five minutes but Stony Brook's defense kept the Wildcats off the board.

- New Hampshire was whistled for seven fouls in the contest, to SBU's four.
