Abby Beasley’s first collegiate goal gives the ‘Cats the win
DURHAM, N.H. – Freshman back Abby Beasley (Fishers, Ind.) scored the game winner with her first collegiate goal as the University of New Hampshire women's soccer team defeated UMass Lowell, 1-0, on Thursday evening at Wildcat Stadium.
With the win, the 'Cats rise to 3-4-3 (1-1-0 AE), while the River Hawks slipped to 4-4-3 (1-1-1 AE).

· The 'Cats return to action on Sunday, Oct. 5 at 2 p.m. on ESPN+ when they take on NJIT at Wildcat Stadium for the Homecoming Game. The game will also be FC Exeter Youth Soccer Game.

· The River Hawks recorded the first shot on goal in the 16th minute when Nora Belin took a shot that was deflected by junior Wildcat goalkeeper Sonja Zeepvat (Mendham, N.J.) and bounced off the post. ELITE SAVE by Sonja Zeepvat ‼️

· Freshman back Nina Ciri (Hopkinton, Mass.) attempted to put the Wildcats on the board with a shot in the 31st minute, which was saved by River Hawk goalkeeper Rachel Welch.
· In the 52nd minute, freshman forward Amber Clarke (Cato, N.Y.) fired a shot from 25 yards out, but Welch responded with a save.
· Zeepvat delivered on a massive save in the 59th minute after a shot by River Hawk Emma Theoren.
· In the 84th minute (83:54), Beasley stole the ball and sent a shot from 18 yards out to the lower right corner of the net, putting the Wildcats up 1-0 and marking her first career goal. Abby Beasley's first collegiate goal!!

· The 'Cats kept the River Hawks off the scoreboard for the 1-0 win.
INSIDE THE NUMBERS:
· UML outshot UNH, 14-9, with both the River Hawks and Wildcats tallying three shots on goal.
· The Wildcats attempted five corner kicks and the River Hawks took seven.
· Zeepvat totaled two saves to earn the win and shutout, while Welch also made two saves.
BEYOND THE BOXSCORE
· With her first collegiate goal, Bealsey now has five points as she also has three assists.
· The win and shutout by Zeepvat were the first of her collegiate career.
