Four Wildcats score for UNH

DURHAM, N.H. – Sophomore midfielder Brooke Pearson (Plainville, Conn.), junior forward Elizabeth Finn (Scituate, Mass), freshman forward Amber Clarke (Cato, N.Y.) and junior forward Greta Caulton (Amherst, N.H.) each scored for the Wildcats as the University of New Hampshire women's soccer team defeated Southern Maine, 4-1, on Sunday afternoon at Wildcat Stadium on Senior Day in the first ever meeting between the two programs. Finn also posted an assist to total three points.

The 'Cats improve to 2-3-3, while the Huskies fall to 3-4-0.

Molly McHugh (Tyngsboro, Mass), Ricshya Walker (Philadelphia, Pa.), Lauren Walker (Essexville, Mich.), Chloe DeLyser (Marion, N.Y.), Maddie Kolb (Tolland, Conn.), Lily Johnson (Wyckoff, N.J.), Abbi Maier (Cincinnati, Ohio), Natalie Zibinskas (Kensington, N.H.) and Elaina Grenz (River Edge, N.J.) were honored before the game for their hard work and dedication to the program.

HOW IT HAPPENED:

Southern Maine took a 1-0 lead in the 14th minute (13:48) when Riley Reitchel sent a shot from 18 yards out to the lower right corner of the net.
The Wildcats tied the game in the 55th minute (54:55) when Finn sent a pass across to Pearson who headed the ball into the back of the net for her second goal of the season.
Finn gave the Wildcats a 2-1 lead in the 67th minute (66:03) when she scored directly from a corner kick for her second goal of the season.
The 'Cats extended the lead to 3-1 when Clarke scored her second goal of the season. In the 71st minute (70:05), Clarke fired a shot from 18 yards out into the lower left corner of the net. Freshman forward Emma Kucal (Cumberland, R.I.) recorded her first collegiate point with an assist.
Caulton scored her first goal of the season in the 86th minute (85:51) off of a rebound from a shot by freshman midfielder Angel Deluhery (Bethlehem, Pa.). The assist by Deluhery was also her first collegiate point.

INSIDE THE NUMBERS:

UNH outshot Southern Maine, 26-6, while the Wildcats posted 15 shots on goal and the Huskies recorded three.
The Wildcats attempted eight corner kicks while the Huskies attempted three.
Junior Sonja Zeepvat (Mendham, N.J.) made one save during the first 45 minutes, while sophomore Caroline Cohen (Glastonbury, Conn.) also made one save in the second half for the 'Cats. Halle Brown tallied 11 saves for Southern Maine.
