Four Matches Headline Final Day of Holly Young Invite

DURHAM, N.H. – The University of New Hampshire volleyball team is prepped for the final day of the annual Holly Young Invitatational, after a win last night, with Idaho State University, the College of the Holy Cross and Sacred Heart University competing.

Sacred Heart vs. Idaho State - SHU win, 3-1
UNH vs. Holy Cross - UNH win, 3-0

New Hampshire Scout
UNH enters the final day of tournament competition after a 3-0 sweep of Holy Cross last night. Senior captain Demi Muses (Orangevale, Calif.) finished with 15 kills and 18 digs to lead the team. Senior Sara Carlson (Hutchinson, Minn.) collected 19 digs in the libero spot. The Wildcats out-killed Holy Cross 45-23 in the match and notched 76 digs in only three sets.
Holy Cross Scout
Holy Cross fell to UNH in three sets to open the tournament. Mandy Sifferlen finished with 11 kills and 16 digs to pace the offensive and defensive side of the net. M.C. Magner finished with 12 digs and Lizzie Webb dug 10 balls. The team shot .103 in the match and finished with 23 digs, 20 from Webb.
Idaho State Scout
The Bengals fell in four sets to open the tournament to Sacred Heart. ISU was led by Abby Jensen who finished with 13 kills and 14 digs. Chloe Hirst smashed 14 kills and recorded seven digs. Hayley Farrer set her way to 39 assists, a tournament-high so far in a match. Haylie Keck tallied 16 digs on the defensive end. With their backs against the wall, the Bengals pulled out set three on a 12-9 kill advantage and a .409 hitting percentage.
Sacred Heart Scout
The Pioneers enter the final day of competition with a 1-0 record after a four-set win against Idaho State. Makayla Dole finished with 15 kills and 10 digs and Sarah Krufka earned 17 kills, a match-high, and a .433 hitting percentage. Kiki Robinson and Lea Lieb finished with 29 and 23 assists, respectively, in the match. Joining Dole in the double-digit-dig category was Lila Palmer who earned 10 digs with nine kills and Ana Gonzalez who finished with 15 digs. The group compiled 10 blocks in the match as well.
