THE STATE OF NEW HAMPSHIRE: The University of New Hampshire (Durham, N.H.) has a 21-10 overall record and earned an automatic berth into the 2016 NCAA Women's Volleyball Championship by virtue of winning the America East Championship tournament.
UNH won the America East regular-season and tournament titles for the fourth consecutive year. This will be the Wildcats' fourth consecutive appearance in the NCAAs and seventh in program history under the direction of 21st-year head coach Jill Hirschinger. In addition to this current run, the 'Cats advanced to the NCAA tourney in 1998, 2002 and 2003.
UNH carries a season-best 10-match win streak into the NCAAs. The Wildcats also had a 10-match win streak last year and a win streak of 11 matches in 2014.
New Hampshire has won five of its last six matches in straight sets. During the win streak, UNH has swept the opponent six times and lost a total of just four sets (no more than one set in any match).
Friday's first round NCAA match at top-seeded, top-ranked and national defending champion University of Nebraska will be UNH's first match away from home since October. The Wildcats ended the regular season with four consecutive home matches and then hosted the America East Championships on Nov. 18-19.
New Hampshire has won each of its last four road matches with the most recent a 3-1 win at UMBC on Oct. 30.
UNH's most recent loss was, in fact, on the road, Oct. 16 at the University at Albany in an epic five-set battle that saw the 'Cats stave off three match points and the Great Danes fend off a pair of match points.
Making History: New Hampshire is the first team to win four consecutive America East tournament titles (2013-14-15-16). UNH has won seven titles overall, which is also an America East record.

Senior middle blocker Demi Muses has elevated her game – if that's possible – with averages of 4.35 points, 3.53 kills, 3.85 digs and 0.82 blocks per set. Her other numbers include a .303 hitting percentage and 11 service aces.
Sophomore middle blocker Gabri Olhava has been killing it with a .382 hitting percentage; she is averaging 2.56 kills and 0.82 blocks per set.
Senior setter Keelin Severtson is averaging 11.58 assists per set as well as 1.73 digs/set.
