Fallberg and Mayer score goals; Koleilat posts three saves.
DURHAM, N.H. – Graduate students Linus Fallberg (Jonkoping, Sweden) and Paul Mayer (Strasbourg, France) both netted their first goals of the season, while goalkeeper Jassem Koleilat (Dubai, United Arab Emirates) made several clutch saves as the No. 14 University of New Hampshire men's soccer team defeated Providence, 2-1, at Wildcat Stadium on Friday evening.
The Wildcats improve to 3-0-0 on the season, while Providence falls to 2-1-0.

Fallberg opened the scoring with his first goal of the season in the 23rd minute (22:40). Graduate student Jacob Gould (Exeter, N.H) sent the ball to Fallberg who found the back of the net from eight yards out and gave the 'Cats a 1-0 lead.
Koleilat then made a big diving save to preserve the Wildcat lead in the 30th minute (29:43) on a shot by Providence's Kevin Vang.
Mayer scored his first goal of the season in the 74th minute (73:08) as he headed the ball to the lower left corner of the net off a pass from junior Bilal Kamal (London, England) to give the 'Cats a 2-0 lead. Graduate student Sam Henneberg (Charlotte, N.C.) also posted an assist on the goal.
In the 68th minute, Koleilat made another tremendous save this time on a header from Cole Dewhurst.
After UNH was called for a hand ball in the box, Paulo Lima scored on the penalty kick to get the Friars on the board in the 83rd minute (82:56). He sent the ball to the bottom right corner of the net to cut the UNH to 2-1.
But the Wildcats defense kept the Friars from scoring the equalizer for the 2-1 final score.

Both teams had nine shots, while the 'Cats posted two shots on goal and the Friars took four.
The 'Cats attempted six corner kicks, while the Friars took four.
Koleilat made three saves to secure the win and to improve to 3-0-0.

UNH is now 36-1-5 all-time at Wildcat Stadium, outscoring the opposition by an 81-15 advantage.
The Wildcats are 9-9-2 all-time versus PC.
UNH held Providence to one goal as the Friars entered the game leading the nation in goals with nine as they had scored 4.5 goals per game.
The game winner by Mayer was his third of his UNH career.
Fallberg now has 12 goals and five assists for 29 career points.
