Graduate back played four seasons for Calcio Schio
DURHAM, N.H. – The University of New Hampshire men's soccer program has announced the signing of back Andrea Zanata (Romano d'Ezzelino, Italy).
"Andrea joins us from Italy with over 60 appearances in Serie D," said head coach Rich Weinrebe. "He is a defender first, committed to winning his duels, competing every day and bringing valuable experience to our backline. He has been tested in and out of possession at a high level which will directly translate to his impact on the field here. Just as importantly, Andrea embodies the character and work ethic that are staples of our program here at UNH. We expect him to make an immediate impact on our Durham family and be a guiding presence both on and off the field."
Zanata played for Calcio Schio from 2022-26 in Serie D which is the fourth level of Italian soccer and Eccellenza which is the fifth level. He made 114 appearances during his time with the club. The team won the Eccellenza championship in 2022-23 and 2025-26. Zanata was a member of a defense that had the best defensive record in Eccellenza in 2022-23 and 2025-26, and the second best defensive record in Serie D in 2023-24.
Zanata also played for FC Bassano from 2023-25 as the team reached the playoff final in 2023-24. He made 22 appearances during the 2023-24 season including playing in the playoff semifinal and final.
He graduated from high school in 2023 from Liceo Scientifico Jacopo Da Ponte.
