Murphy's OT goal caps 'Cats Comeback, 2-1 over Maine
10/5/2017 9:41:00 PM | Women's Soccer
The 'Cats have won six straight for the first time since 1988.
DURHAM, N.H. – University of New Hampshire senior captain Brooke Murphy (Monson, Mass.) had a Maine defensive turnover bounce her way, and she dribbled it downfield and shot it from the top of the box to cap off a Wildcats victory, as UNH came back from down 1-0 to beat the Black Bears 2-1.
After trailing early in the second half, the Wildcats found themselves with their backs against the walls until basically the end. With a free kick with six seconds left, sophomore Megan Rumbold (Highlands Ranch, Colo.) sent the ball into the box from about 35 yards out, expecting to set up a freindly header, but the ball skimmed off a defender's head and hit just underneath the high post, tying the game with just seconds remaining in regulation.
