#17 Wildcats Downed by UMass Lowell in OT (1-0)

The Wildcats suffer just their second loss of the season.
DURHAM, N.H. – The University of New Hampshire men's soccer team was held scoreless at UMass Lowell on Saturday evening, and the River Hawks were able to tally a late strike in double-overtime to overcome the Wildcats 1-0.
UP NEXT: The Wildcats' final regular season game will take place at Wildcat Stadium on Wednesday, November first at 7 p.m. as the 'Cats welcome to Vermont Catamounts to Durham.

HOW IT HAPPENED:
- UNH played a solid first half defensive, blocking a shot and allowing no shots on goal. The Wildcats were also able to put two shots on goal in the period, both saved by UMass Lowell goalkeeper Austin Kroll.
- The block party continued in the second half, this time on the UMass Lowell side as five of UNH's eight shots in the second half were blocked by defenders.
- UNH had a couple scoring chances in the first overtime period but both went high.
- UML answered back in the second overtime with two scoring chances of their own; the first was a shot ricocheting off the crossbar and finding another striker, but Andrew Pesci (Windham, N.H.) was able to make the save. But it wasn't enough as another shot by UMass Lowell's Chase Reichenberg found its way into the net for the River Hawk victory.
INSIDE THE NUMBERS:
- UMass Lowell did not register a shot in the second half.
- UNH led in shots 16-10 overall.
- The River Hawks held the Wildcats to zero shots on net in the overtime periods.
BEYOND THE BOXSCORE:
- The Wildcats are now 3-2-0 in road games this season.
- UNH's last game with zero goals scored was a 1-0 loss to conference foe UMBC on September 30.
- With the loss, the final game of the regular season against Vermont could decide a first place spot, with Vermont touting a 5-1-0 conference record to UNH's 4-2-0 record.
