HOW IT HAPPENED:
- Possession was fairly even in the first half though, represented by the two shots on goal per team in the first.
- Neas was tested in the early going having to save a shot in the second minute that rebounded to a Hartford player, but the shot went wide.
- Another Hartford attempt in the 11th minute bounced off the crossbar and was cleared away by the cats.
- The crossbar struck again, this time against UNH in the 13th minute when Francesca Picicci (North Massapequa, N.Y.) hit the crossbar on a shot and Dorsey's rebounding header went just wide of the net.
- UNH's first goal came in the 22nd minute as Wysocki dribbled downfield and Murphy charged down the middle. Wysocki hit Murphy with a perfect cross that Murphy, still charging, deflected into the net for the 1-0 lead.
- Just under four minutes later, Prince found Dorsey on another cross into the box that Dorsey played off her head and into the net for a quick 2-0 UNH lead.
- In the 36th minute Neas leaves the net to stop an attack on the near side, attempting to deflect the ball out of bounds. Hartford saves the play on the end line and plays the ball into the box but the Hartford shot was knocked away by a defender for a corner.
- In the second half, Hartford turned up the pressure and attempted 13 shots in the second half to UNH's 3.
- In the 51st minute, Kaila Lozada sends a dangerous ball into the box, but it was cleared away before another Hawk could get there.
- Murphy attempted another shot on net, it went high and was just barely tapped away by Hartford keeper over the crossbar for a corner.
- The Hawks had another shot bang off the crossbar in the 62nd minute that was cleared away safely.
- After a series of shots going high and being blocked by the UNH defense, Hartford was able to get a corner in the 87th minute, and Sierra Stone found the head of Magalie Kayrouz to cut the UNH lead to one.
- The goal revitalized the Hawks and they turned up the pressure even more, in the 88th minute they had another scoring chance but the shot went just high.
