Murphy’s Two Goals Pushes Women’s Soccer Over CCSU

Wildcat win TD Bank Classic Tournament for second straight year. Five Wildcats named to All-Tournament team.
BURLINGTON, Vt. – Junior Brooke Murphy (Monson, Mass.), the tournament MVP, scored twice to push the University of New Hampshire women's soccer team over Central Connecticut State University, 3-0, to close out the TD Bank Classic at the University of Vermont campus.
For the second straight year, UNH has won the TD Bank Classic. This time around they claimed the honor by goal differential (+4).

-1st Half-
In the 43rd minute, Murdick stepped up to a set-piece about 45 yards out. The kick bounced inside the box and a streaking Davis headed the ball up and over the keeper and into the back of the net for her first career goal and a 1-0 lead.
-2nd Half-
Murphy earned her first tally of the season in the 46th minute on a loose ball in the Blue Devils' box. The junior picked up the loose ball and dribbled left around the defender and then buried the shot back right behind the keeper.
In the 47th minute the CCSU keeper punted out following a save and Williams one-touched the ball ahead to Murphy who took off downfield and took a strike from 30 yards out that rose above the keepers outstretched hands and just under the bar.
