Women’s Soccer Plays to Scoreless Tie Versus Siena

‘Cats to take on Merrimack on Sept. 3 at home
DURHAM, N.H. – Sophomore Caroline Cohen (Glastonbury, Conn.) and junior Sonja Zeepvat (Mendham, N.J.) combined for the first shutout of the season for the Wildcats as the University of New Hampshire women's soccer team tied Siena, 0-0, on Sunday afternoon at Wildcat Stadium.
The 'Cats are now 0-2-2, while the Saints are 2-1-3.

HOW IT HAPPENED:
- Cohen made the first save of the game in the ninth minute when Cate Flanagan blasted a one-timer from 25 yards that Cohen saved at the lower left post.
- Senior forward Elaina Grenz (River Edge, N.J.) recorded UNH's first shot on goal in the 14th minute with a header towards the upper right corner that was caught by Siena goalkeeper Cate Burns.
- Zeepvat made a big save in the 79th minute when she charged out of the goal and prevented a shot by Abby Daly from going to the back of the net.
- In the 83rd minute, the 'Cats almost took the lead when junior midfielder Elizabeth Finn (Scituate, Mass.) sent a corner kick to the box as freshman defender Abby Beasley (Fishers, Ind.) put a foot on the loose ball but her shot was cleared by a Siena defender and was ruled not a goal on the field as the game remained tied.
- The game stayed scoreless for the 0-0 tie.

- UNH outshot Siena, 18-13, while the Wildcats took seven shots on goal and the Saints recorded five.
- The Saints attempted six corner kicks and the Wildcats took four.
