Glenn Riefenstahl, N.H.LAT, ATC is currently in his 38th season as the Head Men’s Ice Hockey Athletic Trainer since he started during the 1988-89 season. He is also the primary Athletic Training contact for Men’s and Women’s Alpine and Nordic Skiing.
In this role, Riefenstahl is directly involved in all aspects of the team’s athletic injuries and medical care. This includes emergency injury management, referrals as needed to team physicians and other health care providers, prevention of injuries and injury rehabilitation. He is responsible for the Athletic Training Departments Facilities and Inventory.
He started his Athletic Training Career working as the Assistant Athletic Trainer at Natick High School (MA) for the 1987-88 academic year. At UNH he has worked with football, men’s lacrosse, men’s soccer as well as the “fill-in” AT for all other UNH men’s and women’s sports.
Glenn is a Board Certified member of the National Athletic Trainers’ Association (NATA), the Eastern Athletic Trainers’ Association (EATA) and a state Licensed member of the New Hampshire Athletic Trainer’s Association. As a Member of the Professional Hockey Athletic Trainers Association, he has been recognized for working his 500th and 1000th regular season games. He is American Red Cross certified in CPR/First Aid and AED for the Professional Rescuer, Functional Movement Screen (FMS) Level 1 and Y Balance Test Certified, and Graston Technique M1 Certified.
Riefenstahl graduated from Keene State in 1987 with a major in Physical Education, with an emphasis in Athletic Training.
Riefenstahl and his wife Amy reside in Durham, N.H. with their daughters Katelynn and Caroline.
