Wildcats to play UMass at the Whitt on Saturday
AMHERST, MASS. –The University of New Hampshire men's hockey team fell to No. 19 UMass, 4-0, on Friday evening at the Mullins Center in Hockey East action.
The Wildcats fall to 12-16-1 (6-12-1 Hockey East), while the Minutemen improve to 18-11-0 (11-8-0 Hockey East).

HOW IT HAPPENED:
- The Minutemen took a 2-0 lead with two straight goals to start the first period as Lukas Klecka scored on a one-timer off a pass by Owen Murray just 41 seconds after the opening faceoff, while Larry Keenan increased the lead to 2-0 at 6:08 when he found back of the net on the power play.
- The Minutemen made it a 3-0 game at 15:01 when Bo Cosman blasted a slap shot from right faceoff circle for the goal.
- At 14:27 of the second period the Wildcats earned a penalty shot, but the attempt by junior alternate captain J.P. Turner (East Falmouth, Mass.) was saved by Michael Hrabal to keep the Wildcats off the scoreboard.
- At 4:07 of the third period, Francesco Dell'Elce scored the fourth goal of the game for UMass as he fired the puck to the upper glove side of the net to make it a 4-0 contest.
INSIDE THE NUMBERS:
- UMass outshot UNH, 29-21.
- The Wildcats went 0-1 on the power play, while the Minutemen went 1-3.
- Senior goalie Kyle Chauvette (Goffstown, N.H.) recorded 25 saves for the Wildcats, while Hrabal posted 21 saves for the Minutemen.
