Kristaps Skrastins to Compete at World Championship for Latvia

Skrastins played in 127 games for the Wildcats over four seasons
DURHAM, N.H. – University of New Hampshire graduating senior forward Kristaps Skrastins (Grobina, Latvia) will compete as a member of Team Latvia at the 2026 IIHF Men's World Championship in Switzerland. The World Championship will take place from May 15-May 31.
Latvia is a member of Group A and will start the competition versus Switzerland on May 16. Latvia will also play Germany (May 17), Austria (May 19), Finland (May 21), the United States (May 23), Great Britain (May 24) and Hungary (May 26) in the group stage. The quarterfinals are on May 28 with the semifinals on May 30 and finals on May 31.

Skrastins played in 127 games over four seasons with 14 goals and 19 assists for 33 points. He was named the Hockey East Rookie of the Week in January of 2023 and earned 2024-25 Hockey East All-Academic Team honors. Skrastins just recently won the Robert A. Kullen Unsung Player Award.
