BOSTON – Freshman goalkeeper Jochum Magnússon (Reykjavík, Iceland) recorded a shutout in his collegiate debut as the University of New Hampshire men's soccer team earned a 0-0 draw against Boston University on Friday night at Nickerson Field in non-conference action.

Magnússon made one save, while the Wildcat defense added a team save as UNH secured its first clean sheet of the season.

The Wildcats are now 2-1-1 overall and are 2-0-1 over the last three games. Boston University is now 0-2-2.

HOW IT HAPPENED:

The teams played a scoreless first half, with neither side registering a shot on goal.
UNH generated its best opportunity of the second half in the 70th minute when graduate midfielder Miguel Soto Gonzalez (Villanueva de la Cañada, Spain) forced BU goalkeeper Ben Alexander to make the game's first save.
Three minutes later, the Terriers threatened when Chinelo Robinson fired a shot toward goal, but senior defender Kohsuke Fukodome (Chiba, Japan) cleared the danger with a header to keep the match scoreless.
Magnússon recorded his first collegiate save in the 75th minute, stopping a shot by Keke Abai.
The Wildcats turned away one final chance when graduate midfielder Tyson Amoo-Mensah (Lisle, Ill.) cleared Anthony Harper's attempt off the goal line with just over three minutes remaining, preserving the scoreless draw.
