Freshman midfielder played for D.C. United Academy
DURHAM, N.H. – The University of New Hampshire men's soccer program has announced the signing of freshman midfielder Rayyan Firdawcy (Fairfax, Va.).
"Rayyan is an exciting incoming midfielder whose experience within the MLS academy system with D.C. United has helped shape his intelligence, composure, and understanding of the game at a high level," said head coach Rich Weinrebe. "Comfortable in possession and effective at connecting play, Rayyan brings creativity, vision and the ability to influence games in midfield. His technical quality, competitive mentality and commitment to development make him a strong addition to our program. We're excited to welcome Rayyan this fall and look forward to the quality and character he will add to the squad."
Firdawcy played for D.C. United Academy of MLS NEXT from 2022-26. He was named the Man of the Match versus PSV Eindhoven at GA Cup in 2024. The team qualified for the 2023 MLS Next Cup Playoffs. Firdawcy earned a Morocco U18 Youth National Team Call Up, and had Trials with SC Braga U19 and Estoril U23 in Portugal.
Prior to D.C. United Academy, Firdawcy played for Arlington Soccer Association from 2017-22. He was a two-time member of the First Team ECNL All-Conference Mid-Atlantic.
