Freshman forward played in Spain in 2025-26
DURHAM, N.H. – The University of New Hampshire men's soccer program has announced the signing of freshman forward Augie Hoelscher (Jackson, Wyo.).
"After spending a year in Spain continuing his development, Augie arrives with added maturity, experience and a deeper understanding of the game," said head coach Rich Weinrebe. "His time abroad challenged him both on and off the field, helping shape a player who is confident, adaptable and driven to improve every day. Augie's competitive mentality, work ethic and willingness to embrace new environments make him an exciting addition to our incoming class. We're thrilled to welcome him this fall to Durham!"
Hoelscher played the 2025-26 season for Unionistas De Salamanca of Division de Honor which is the highest youth level in Spain. He posted eight goals and six assists for 22 points. He played in two seasons for Wasatch Soccer Club as the team won the EA National Championship, West Region Championship and Utah State Championship. Hoelscher totaled 18 goals and 14 assists for 50 points during the 2023-24 season.
Hoelscher was a member of Timbers Academy from 2021-23 of MLS NEXT as he competed at the highest US youth soccer level where he tallied 18 goals and 15 assists for 51 points. The team won the Generation Adidas Cup as he scored in the final versus Valencia in the 2021-2022 season. The team also qualified both years for MLS NEXT Cup.
During the 2023-24 season, Hoelscher led the team with 34 goals 25 assists for 93 points at Jackson Hole High School. He set a school record for assists. Hoelscher earned All-State accolades and was named the Team MVP. The team won the state championship. Also in 2023-24, he was an All-State selection in alpine skiing as he placed third in the state in the slalom and giant slalom, while the team won the state championship. Hoelscher graduated from Jackson Hole High School in 2025.
