Aaron Choi makes three saves for the Wildcats
HAMILTON, N.Y. – Cole Ramey scored the game's only goal in the 68th minute as the University of New Hampshire men's soccer team dropped a 1-0 decision to Colgate on Thursday night at Beyer-Small '76 Field in the season opener for both teams.
The Wildcats begin the season 0-1, while the Raiders improve to 1-0.

HOW IT HAPPENED:
- UNH recorded its first shot on goal of the season in the sixth minute when sophomore forward Xahvi DeRoza (Warwick, Bermuda) headed a ball on frame from six yards out, but Colgate goalkeeper Christian Kellogg made the save.
- Sophomore goalkeeper Aaron Choi (Stow, Mass.) collected his first save of the season in the 15th minute, stopping a shot from Ramey from 20 yards away.
- Choi came up with another key stop in the 46th minute, securing Charlie Yates' header from eight yards out.
- Ramey netted the game-winner in the 68th minute (67:48), controlling a pass from Otto Bourne before turning and firing a shot from six yards out into the back of the net.
- The Wildcats nearly equalized in the 81st minute when sophomore defender Romeo Corino (Monaco) directed a header toward goal from 10 yards away, but Kellogg made a diving save to preserve the lead.
- UNH's final opportunity came with 52 seconds remaining as senior midfielder Daniel Firek (Mississauga, Ontario) put a shot on goal that was saved by Kellogg.

- UNH outshot Colgate, 18-9, including an 8-4 advantage in shots on goal.
- The Wildcats held an 8-1 edge in corner kicks.
- Choi finished with three saves for UNH.
