Graduate student midfielder is a transfer from Queens College
DURHAM, N.H. – The University of New Hampshire men's soccer program has announced the signing of graduate student midfielder Miguel Soto Gonzalez (Villanueva de la Cañada, Spain).
"Miguel joins our program as a graduate student, bringing proven production, technical quality and high-level experience to the squad," said head coach Rich Weinrebe. "During his most recent season at Queens College, he recorded seven goals and 13 assists in 20 matches, establishing himself as one of the top creative players at the Division II level. Miguel is dynamic in possession and comfortable operating in tight spaces, combining with teammates, and driving games forward with confidence and intelligence. His vision, technical ability and creativity make him dangerous in attacking moments, while his work rate and competitiveness reflect the standards we value within our program. We can't wait to work with Miguel and are looking forward to some exciting attacking moments from him this coming season."
Soto Gonzalez played the 2024 and 2025 seasons at Queens College as the team won the ECC regular season championship in both years. He earned 2025 All-ECC First Team honors, 2025 All-Regional Second Team accolades and was named to the 2024 All-ECC Second Team. Soto Gonzalez posted 18 goals and 15 assists for 51 points over 37 games played at Queens with eight goals and five assists during 2024, and seven goals and 13 assists during 2025. Prior to his time at Queens, he was a member of the men's soccer team at Hofstra University in 2023.
During the summer of 2025, Soto Gonzalez was a member of New York Braveheart SC II of UPSL American Conference where he was the UPSL Player of the Conference as he tallied 12 goals and seven assists for 31 points. The team won the Conference and Regional Championships, and advanced to the Elite Eight.
