DANBURY, Conn. – Junior back Maddie Kolb (Tolland, Conn.) of the University of New Hampshire women's soccer team has been named to the 2024 Division I Women's Soccer All-ECAC First Team.
Kolb was honored as the America East Defender of the Year, becoming just the second Wildcat to earn this distinction. She also earned All-Conference First Team honors and was named to the United Soccer Coaches All-Atlantic Third Team.
Kolb started every game this season, logging the full 90 minutes in all but two matches. She anchored a Wildcats' defense that allowed the fewest goals in the conference (14) and posted the best goals against average in America East (0.778).
Kolb also played a key role in nine shutouts across 16 regular season matches, helping limit opponents to just 8.1 shots per game, with only 3.9 on target. Offensively, Kolb contributed one assist in a 3-2 victory against Holy Cross.
The Wildcats concluded the 2024 season with a 12-5-1 record, finishing as runner-up in both the America East regular season and tournament. The 12 wins tied the program record set in 1988.
The ECAC is an 85-year-old organization with well over 200 member schools across all three NCAA Divisions - I, II and III. The ECAC exists to enhance the experience of student-athletes participating in intercollegiate athletics and provides great value for universities and colleges by sponsoring championships, leagues, bowl games, tournaments and other competitions throughout the Northeast.
