GAME RECAP
- Wildcats were first on the board with 49 seconds left in the first period off a power play goal by Wenczkowski. McManus and Turner both tallied the assists, with Turner slipping it to McManus behind the net who sent it into the slot for Wenczkowski to shoot into the bottom left of the net.
- UNH increased their lead with a flurry of three goals in the first three minutes of the second period. On a power play, Turner shot the puck into the net from the slot off a pass from Wenczkowski. The third goal was netted by senior Nicole Dunbar (Coto de Caza, Calf.) who sent an untouched shot from the blue line. 43 seconds later, junior Paige Rynne (Ancaster, Ontario) finished on a scramble in front of the net.
- The Wildcats scored their fifth unanswered goal at 10:38 into the second period with a goal from McManus. Turner collected a pass from Wenczkowski and delivered the puck across the slot for McManus to fire in.
- Just over nine minutes later, UNH made the score 6-0 with a goal from sophomore Lauren Martin (Cambridge, Ontario). Both freshman Tamara Thiérus (Saint-Jerome, Quebec) and Rynne took shots that rebounded off the goalie's pads and landed in the crease, where Martin was positioned to hit it into the back of the net.
- With a scoreless third period, despite 17 shots on net for the Wildcats, the score remained 6-0 and UNH secured the shutout win.
