CHESTNUT HILL, Mass. – Sophomore goaltender Sedona Blair (Eden Prairie, Minn.) made 23 saves but the University of New Hampshire women's hockey team was edged 2-0 by 15th-ranked Boston College on Friday night at Conte Forum.
Blair made nine saves in the first period, followed by eight in the second and six in the third.
BC goalie Grace Campbell stopped 28 shots, including 14 in the third period. Julia Pellerin and Alanna Devlin scored the Eagles' goals.
UNH moves to 15-16-2 overall and 11-14-1 in Hockey East while BC is now 20-12-1, 16-9-1.
New Hampshire is locked into the No. 7 seed in the Hockey East tournament and will play host to 10th-seeded Merrimack College in a Feb. 26 (7 p.m.) first round game at the Whittemore Center at Key Auto Group Complex. CLICK HERE to buy tickets.

- BC recorded a 10-9 shot advantage in the scoreless opening 20 minutes.

- The Eagles generated a 9-5 shot advantage and scored the only goal in the second stanza.
- Julia Pellerin gave BC a 1-0 lead at 7:52 when her shot from the left circle deflected off Blair's stick blade up, hit under her right arm and continued into the net.
- With two minutes on the clock, Alyson Hush (Scarborough, Ontario) led a rush down the right wing. She saucered a pass to the slot, where the shot by Kelly Harty (Billerica, Mass.) was knocked down by Campbell's blocker. The goalie then lunged to her right to cover the loose puck before Harty and Hush could get a stick on the loose puck.
- BC went on the first power play of the game at 18:26.
- Blair made one save – off the stick of Sammy Taber – with 34 seconds left in the period.

- UNH outshot the hosts 14-6 in the final frame.
- The home team carried 26 seconds of power play into the third period but UNH's penalty kill did not allow a shot on goal.
- Devlin tucked home a rebound in front of the net to extend BC's lead to 2-0 at 2:08.
- UNH went on its only power play of the game at 8:28. Moments later, a shot by Marina Alvarez (Center Moriches, N.Y.) was stopped by Campbell.
- The 'Cats continued to pressure in the offensive zone but did not get another shot attempt through to Campbell.
- Blair was pulled in favor of an extra skater with 3:45 to play.
- Campbell turned aside shots by Sadie Makokis (St. Albert, Alberta) and Hush within the next minute before BC called timeout at 17:15.
- UNH sustained pressure, which led to a Sara Boucher (Burlington, Ontario) scoring chance snared by Campbell at 18:19.

- Makokis led all skaters with four blocks, She also recorded four shots.

- BC had a 27-18 edge in the faceoff circle.
