Sennott Records Four Points but No. 1 Stony Brook Prevails, 20-6

STONY BROOK, N.Y. – Rebecca Sennott (Westford, Mass.) matched her career high of four points but the University of New Hampshire women's lacrosse team was defeated 20-6 by No. 1 Stony Brook University at LaValle Stadium on Sunday afternoon.
Sennott scored a goal and tallied three assists, which also tied a personal best. Her other stats included three ground balls, one draw control and one caused turnover. Krissy Schafer (Longmeadow, Mass.) was the other Wildcat who recorded multiple points with two goals.
UNH starting goalie Kate Clancy (Barrington, R.I.) stopped 2 of 10 shots on goal in 13:48 and exited the game with UNH trailing 8-1. Amanda Gottlieb (Canton, Conn.) played a career-high 46 minutes, 12 seconds and matched her career highs in both saves (five) and ground balls (five); she yielded 12 goals.
Stony Brook was led offensively by Kylie Ohlmiller (three goals, seven assists), Courtney Murphy (6g, 1a) and Taryn Ohlmiller (4g, 1a). Starting goalkeeper Anna Tesoriero made four saves and allowed four goals in 50:36. Jessica Goralski went the rest of the way and also had a .500 save percentage with two saves and two goals against.
UNH moves to 6-8 overall and 4-1 in America East. Stony Brook remained unbeaten overall and atop the conference standings at 14-0, 5-0.

THE DIFFERENCE
- After Schafer tied the score 1-1 at 25:46, the Seawolves scored seven goals in as many minutes to build an 8-1 lead at 16:12.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- The high-scoring duo of Kylie Miller and Murphy combined to produce the game's first goal at 29:16.
- Sennott set up Schafer's first goal and tied the game, 1-1, at 25:46.
- The aforementioned Seawolves' combo struck attain at 23:27, then Ohlmiller scored on a free-position shot at 20:34 to give the home team a 3-1 lead.
- Ohlmiller set up tallies by Ally Kennedy and Murphy in a span of 47 seconds to quickly push the advantage to 5-1 at 19:02.
- Murhpy's third goal of the game at 18:20 was followed by tallies from Kennedy and Taryn Ohlmiller at 16:55 and 16:12, respectively, to give SBU an 8-1 lead.
- UNH played the top-ranked team evenly the rest of the half with both teams scoring three goals to advance the score to 11-4 going into halftime.
- Teagan Northrup (Longmeadow, Mass.) finished a feed from Sennott to trim the deficit to 8-2 at 15:06.
- Schafer netted an unassisted goal at 10:07 and Michele Smith (Wantagh, N.Y.) set up Julia Neyland (Boxborough, Mass.) with 59 seconds on the clock.
- Stony Brook opened the second half with nine consecutive goals to extend the margin to 20-4 at 10:19.
- Sennott converted a free position into a goal at 5:30 and she recorded her fourth point of the game by setting up Caroline Hernon (Hampton, N.H.) at 2:45.

- Schafer extended her goal and point streaks to 12 games; she has 32 points, all on goals, during the streak. She has scored a goal in 13 of 14 games overall this season.
- Schafer recorded five of UNH's 18 shots.
- Northrup has a six-game point streak, including a goal in four straight, with 13 points (4g, 9a) in that span.
- Neyland's point streak is at six games with 11 goals and two assists for 13 points. She has recorded a point in 11 of 14 games.
