Lacrosse Falls to Harvard

DURHAM, N.H. — The University of New Hampshire women's lacrosse team fell to Harvard University (5-6, 1-3 Ivy) on Tuesday afternoon (April 7) at Wildcat Stadium, dropping a 20-6 decision.
HOW IT HAPPENED
1Q
-Harvard opened the scoring with 13:25 to play in the opening quarter with a strike from Charlotte Hodgson.
-New Hampshire tied things up 2:29 later, when Julia Gronda (Pompton Plains, N.J.) netted a free position try, making it a 1-1 contest.
-Harvard responded 33 seconds later on a score from Grace Mullahy.
-The Wildcats found their second equalizer of the game at 9:39, when Makayla Keys (Fairport, N.Y.) took a feed from Charlize Collins (Burlington, Mass.) and rifled the ball on net to make it 2-2.
-The Crimson and Wildcats each found the back of the net within 11 seconds of each other, with a goal from Harvard's Callie Batchelder at 8:30 and a strike from Keys at 8:19 to make it 3-3.
-Harvard regained the lead at 7:47 on a Grace Mullahy goal, before New Hampshire tied it back up on a Libby Boland (Victor, N.Y.) try at 6:58 to raise the score to 4-4.
-The Crimson extended their lead with a three-goal run in a 58 second span, striking at 4:30, 3:59, and 3:32 to take their largest lead of the quarter.
-New Hampshire cut back into the deficit with 3:05 to play on a Charlize Collins goal, earning her third point of the quarter and making it a 7-5 contest.

-Harvard found a pair of goals at 11:33 and 11:17 in the second quarter to make it 9-5.
-The Crimson tallied their third of the quarter with 3:31 to play, extending the lead to 10-5 at halftime.

-Harvard's offense came out of the half fast, with goals at 12:15, 11:42, and 10:10 to take a 13-5 edge.
