Rose Pavuk Nets Career-High Five Goals as 'Cats Down Sacred Heart, 7-4

DURHAM, N.H. — The University of New Hampshire women's lacrosse team bested Sacred Heart University (0-4, 0-0 MAAC) on Friday afternoon (Feb. 27) at Tucker Field, winning 7-4.
HOW IT HAPPENED
1Q
-The Pioneers opened the scoring with 12:40 to play in the opening quarter, when Jamie Tanner fired on net for the quick 1-0 lead.
-Sacred Heart doubled the lead with 4:32 left in the opening quarter, when Sadie Stevens got one past the defense to make it 2-0.
2Q
-Sacred Heart extended their lead with 10:29 to play with a strike from Adisyn Bernhardt.
-The Wildcats broke onto the scoreboard with 7:45 left in the half, when Erin Fagan (Clarksburg, Md.) found Rose Pavuk (York, Maine) in front, who fired on net for her team-leading seventh score of the year to make it 3-1.
-New Hampshire cut the lead to a single score with 2:58 to play in the half, when Piper Boudreau (Chelmsford, Mass.) netted her first goal of the season on a free position shot.
-The Wildcats tied things up with 1:23 to play, when Rose Pavuk tallied her second goal of the game on a free position shot.
-Just eight seconds later, Charlize Collins (Burlington, Mass.) won the ball off the draw, storming down the field before finding Rose Pavuk in front, who fired on net, striking for her third goal of the quarter and second hat trick of the season to make it 4-3.

-The Pioneers knotted things up with 4:26 remaining in the third quarter, when Jamie Tanner netted her second of the game on a man-up, free position try, tying the game at 4-4.

-The Wildcats regained their lead with 10:52 left to play, when Julia Gronda (Pompton Plains, N.J.) found Libby Boland (Victor, N.Y.) in front of the net, who got one past Margaret Morgan to make it 5-4.
-The 'Cats doubled their lead 1:35 later when Rose Pavuk cut through a pair of defenders before beating Morgan for her fourth goal of the game, matching her career-high in goals and setting UNH ahead 6-4.
-UNH found their third goal of the quarter with 27 seconds to go, when Rose Pavuk netted her fifth goal of the game, bringing about the final 7-4 score.
