Lacrosse Drops Home Contest to Vermont

DURHAM, N.H. — The University of New Hampshire women's lacrosse team fell to the University of Vermont (6-5, 2-1 AE) on Saturday afternoon (March 28) at Wildcat Stadium, dropping a 15-4 decision.
HOW IT HAPPENED
1Q
-New Hampshire's offense found the opening goal with 13:39 to play in the first quarter when Kate O'Rourke (Franklin, Mass.) made a move to evade the defender before sinking her shot into the net to make it 1-0.
-Vermont's offense responded midway through the frame, with goals at 9:12 and 7:25 to take a 2-1 lead.
-The Wildcats tied things up at 6:52 when Charlize Collins (Burlington, Mass.) took a feed from Rose Pavuk (York, Maine) and buried it.
-Vermont's Lydia Doraz retook the lead with 2:59 to play on a shot from the left side of Emma Crater (Littleton, Colo.), beating the goalkeeper to make it 3-2.
-With 2:19 to play, O'Rourke tied things up with a behind the back shot past Vermont's Ayla Shea to bring the game to a 3-3 deadlock.
-The Catamounts struck twice in the final two minutes, with goals at 1:38 and 0:52 to make it 5-3.

-Vermont extended their lead with 6:33 to go, when a man-up strike from Jane Trauger put the Catamounts ahead 6-3.
-Vermont netted two more goals with 5:25 and 4:45 to play, giving the Catamounts an 8-3 edge at halftime.
