Lacrosse Drops 12-11 Decision to Binghamton in OT

Rose Pavuk paced the day with a four goal, two assist outing.
VESTAL, N.Y. — The University of New Hampshire women's lacrosse team fell late to Binghamton University (4-6, 1-1 AE) on Saturday afternoon (March 21) at Bearcats Sports Complex, dropping a 12-11 decision in overtime.
HOW IT HAPPENED
1Q
-Binghamton's offense found the opening goal with 13:25 to play in the opening quarter on a free position strike from Brooke Bort.
-New Hampshire responded 3:31 later with an Erin Fagan (Clarksburg, Md.) free position goal to tie it up at 1-1.
-The Bearcats regained the lead at 6:54 with a strike from Carla Curth before extending the advantage with a Sabrina Boyle man-up goal at 4:37, making it a 3-1 contest.
-New Hampshire found their second goal of the quarter with 4:06 to play, when Rose Pavuk (York, Maine) found Charlize Collins (Burlington, Mass.) on the doorstep before the sophomore made a move to beat Binghamton's Maeve Sayre.
-Binghamton found their fourth goal of the quarter with 1:26 to go, when Curth struck on the man-up opportunity for her second goal of the game, making it 4-2.

-The Wildcats got one back with 11:49 to play, when Pavuk netted a free position try for her first goal and second point of the afternoon.
-Binghamton struck back 2:41 later when Curth netted her third goal of the half, making it a 5-3 contest.
-New Hampshire cut the lead back down to a single goal at 7:42 on a Kate O'Rourke (Franklin, Mass.) effort, but goals at 6:01 and 5:12 from Binghamton set the Bearcats ahead 7-4, their largest lead of the afternoon.
-The Wildcats tied things up late in the first half, with goals at 2:51 from Makayla Keys (Fairport, N.Y.), 2:29 from Rose Pavuk, and 0:30 from Libby Boland (Victor, N.Y.) to make it 7-7.

-New Hampshire's offense continued to surge in the opening minutes of the third quarter, with goals from Kate O'Rourke at 13:38 and Rose Pavuk on the free position at 11:16 to take a 9-7 lead.
-The Bearcats fought back with three goals in a 3:22 span, striking at 9:59, 8:48, and 6:37 to retake the lead, 10-9.
-With 4:26 to go in the quarter, Makayla Keys netted her second of the game off a Rose Pavuk assist to tie it up at 10-10.

-New Hampshire took an 11-10 advantage with 5:49 to play, when Rose Pavuk split the defense and ran in on net, firing home for the lead.
-Binghamton found the equalizer 1:57 later one a free position goal from Mia Forte.
OT
-With 3:17 left in the extra period, Mia Forte connected on a loose ball following a Makenna Schultz (Hinsdale, Ill.) save, batting it into the net for the final 12-11 score.
