The Matchup
- UNH has an 8-10 lifetime record, including 4-4 at home, against Hofstra.

- The Wildcats have won two of the last three meetings, including last year's 14-8 decision in the 2016 season opener for both teams at Cowell Stadium (now Wildcat Stadium).
- Hofstra's most recent win in the series was Feb. 14, 2015 (15-11 at Shuart Stadium). The Pride's most recent win in Durham was March 28, 2007 (9-6).
- Once upon a time, both these programs were America East conference members (1996-2001).
- After Hofstra left the league, these teams did not meet again until 2007 & 2008. The series took another break until 2013, but now this is the fifth consecutive year the 'Cats battle the Pride.
The State of New Hampshire
- UNH has an overall record of 0-8 that includes 0-3 at home.
- The Wildcats went 0-2 on their west coast road trip with a 15-4 loss at fourth-ranked Southern California (March 13) followed by a 12-11 overtime loss at San Diego State (March 15).
- There were seven ties and five lead changes in last Wednesday's game at SDSU, and neither team led by more than two goals.
- UNH is averaging 7.75 goals and 23.5 shots per game while allowing averages of 13.75 goals and 29.8 shots.
- New Hampshire has scored double digits three times in eight games and the opponent has reached double figures every game.
- After being held to five, four and four goals in three consecutive games, UNH scored seven first-half goals at San Diego State.
'Cat Nips
- Junior midfielder Carly Wooters (White Plains, N.Y.) matched her career highs in goals (four) and points (five) at San Diego State. The four goals and five points also tie the top performances by a 'Cat in '17.
- Senior attack Devon Croke (Norwell, Mass.) equaled her personal best of four points with three goals and an assist at SDSU. Croke fired 10 shots against the Aztecs and that is the highest total by a Wildcat this season.
- Junior attack Krissy Schafer (Longmeadow, Mass.) scored two goals at San Diego State to mark her seventh multiple-goal game of the season.
- Junior goalkeeper Kate Clancy (Barrington, R.I.) recorded double-digit saves both games of the west coast trip – 12 at USC, 10 at SDSU – and she was also credited with a total of six ground balls in the two games.
- Clancy has started all 41 games since arriving at UNH. She has a 13.49 GAA and .423 save percentage in eight games this season, and her 2017 highlights include a career-high 19-save effort in the season opener vs. Harvard.
- Junior midfielder Teagan Northrup (Longmeadow, Mass.) scored her first goal of the season at San Diego State; in the previous game at USC, Northrup recorded her first career multiple-assist game with two helpers.
The Leaderboard
- Krissy Schafer has scored a team-high 18 goals for a team-best 18 points; she also ranks second in draw controls (14) and shooting percentage (.500), and is third in shots (36).
- Devon Croke is second in goals (14), points (16) and shots (44).
- Despite missing the past three games, junior midfielder Devan Miller (Bristol, R.I.) is atop the UNH leaderboard in assists (seven), ranks third in points (15) and is tied for fourth in goals (eight).
- Junior midfielder Cat Sennott (Westford, Mass.) is No. 1 in both ground balls (16) and caused turnovers (eight).
- Senior defender and captain Hope Kissick (Cohasset, Mass.) is tied for second in both ground balls (14) and caused turnovers (seven), and she is third in draw controls (11).
- Carly Wooters has a team-high 47 shots and is atop the leaderboard in draw controls (19). She ranks third in goals (11) and is tied for third in points (15).
- Senior midfielder and captain Marissa Gurello (Manorville, N.Y.) is tied for second in caused turnovers (seven) and tied for fourth in both goals (eight) and draw controls (six).
Shoot
- New Hampshire has been outshot in 5 of 8 games, but that total was close in consecutive games at Fairfield (23-20) and against UMass (24-23). At the other end of the spectrum, Harvard was +20 (43-23), and both Dartmouth and Southern California were +19.
- The bigger disparities are in shooting percentage (UNH 33.0% … Opponents 46.2%) and shots on goal percentage (UNH 70.2% … Opponents 79.8%).
Free and Clear
- UNH has scored on 12 of 43 free position shots (27.9%) in comparison to 24-for-48 (50.0%) for the opposition.
- The Wildcats struggled on clear attempts against Dartmouth College (15 of 24) and at USC (particularly in the second half at 5x10) but are a combined 94-for-105 (89.5%) in the other six games – including a perfect 12-for-12 at San Diego State – for a total of 121-148 (81.8%); in comparison, the opposition has 129 successful clears in 152 attempts (84.9%).
Up and Down
- UNH has scored two player-up goals in six opportunities through eight games. They were 1-for-1 last Monday at USC, but did allow two player-down goals by the Women of Troy before that tally.

Working Overtime
- New Hampshire suffered its second overtime loss of the season March 15 at San Diego State University; the Aztecs scored 69 seconds into the extra session to prevail 12-11.
- UNH was defeated 11-10 in overtime at Holy Cross on March 1 when the Crusaders scored with 42.3 seconds remaining in the six-minute extra session.
- That was UNH's first OT loss since 2013, when the 'Cats were defeated by Boston College and Navy, both of whom were nationally-ranked, in overtime.
- The Wildcats were 1-0 in OT in both 2016 and 2015; we did not play an overtime game in 2014.
Scouting the Pride
- Hofstra University (Hempstead, N.Y.) enters Tuesday's game with a 3-3 overall record that includes 1-1 on the road. The Pride ended a three-game losing streak with this past Saturday's 14-4 home win against Quinnipiac University.
- Hofstra opened the 2017 season with wins against Bucknell University (15-5) and Wagner College (14-10).
- That was followed by losses to Fairfield (19-14), #1 Maryland (18-7) and #19 Johns Hopkins (12-4).
- HU is averaging 11.33Â goals and 27.2Â shots per game while surrendering 11.33Â goals and 27.8Â shots per game.
- Alyssa Parrella is atop the team leaderboard in goals (22), assists (eight) and points (30).
- Drew Shapiro (12g, 6a), Lexi Lenaghan (13g, 2a), and Carlee Ancona (6g, 7a) have also reached double digits in points.
- Shea McAvoy leads Hofstra in both ground balls (19) and caused turnovers (11).
- Maddie Fields has played all 360 minutes in goals and has an 11.33Â GAA and .404Â save percentage.
