Clancy Makes 12 Saves in 15-4 Loss at No. 4 USC

LOS ANGELES – Kate Clancy (Barrington, R.I.) recorded 12 saves but the University of New Hampshire women's lacrosse team was defeated by fourth-ranked University of Southern California, 15-4, at McAlister Field on Monday.
This marked Clancy's third double-digit save effort of the season. She opened the second half with four consecutive saves to raise her game save percentage to .500, and the junior goalie finished the second half with seven saves. Clancy was also credited with a team-high four ground balls.
Teagan Northrup (Longmeadow, Mass.), Krissy Schafer (Longmeadow, Mass.) and Catherine Sexton (Niskayuna, N.Y.) recorded two points apiece. Schafer scored two goals, Northrup had two assists and Sexton tallied a goal and an assist.
USC was led offensively by Michaela Michael (3g, 5a) and Kylie Drexel (3g, 2a). Starting goalie Gussie Johns stopped 4 of 6 shots on goal in 43 minutes, 52 seconds to earn the win. Hannah Upshaw allowed two goals and made three saves the rest of the way.
UNH moves to 0-7 and USC is now 5-1.

- USC scored the first seven goals of the game and never looked back.
- Kerrigan Miller opened the scoring at 26:18 and struck again at 21:16 to give the home team a 2-0 lead.
- The Women of Troy slowly extended the advantage to 5-0 midway through the first half, then scored goals nine seconds apart to take a 7-0 lead.
- Carly Wooters (White Plains, N.Y.) finished a feed from Northrup at 13:04 to end USC's run.
- The Trojans scored the last two goals of the half to take a 9-2 lead into the locker room.
