Danielle Gajewski, a fifth-year senior from Danville, New Hampshire, captured her seventh individual America East Championship title at the 2019 America East Outdoor Track & Field Championships at UAlbany on May 5.
Danielle outkicked the 800-meter conference indoor champion down the stretch to win the event in 2 minutes, 7.81 seconds. She qualified for Sunday’s final heat with a top time of 2:07.82 in the 800m preliminaries. Both the preliminary and final times were tenths-of-a-second slower than her personal best mark of 2:07.21 (established May 11, 2017 at Army West Point).
Earlier this season, Danielle raced to fifth place in the 800m at the Ocean State Invitational, which was hosted by Brown University on April 12-13.
The UNH women’s outdoor track & field team returns to action May 11-12 at the ECAC Championships at Princeton University.
