Wildcats Place Third at New England XC Championships

White (3rd) and Ronan (7th) pace UNH in 5K at Hopkinton State Fairgrounds
HOPKINTON, N.H. – Powered by top-10 performances from sophomore Ruth White (Orono, Maine) and graduate student captain Claire Ronan (Port Jefferson Station, N.Y.), the UNH women's cross country team finished third in the women's 5K at the 2025 New England XC Championships held Friday at the Hopkinton State Fairgrounds.
White notched third place (three points) in a time of 17 minutes, 31.84 seconds, while Ronan posted a seventh-place time of 17:44.01 for seven points.
The Wildcats totaled 109 points to finish behind champion Providence (67 points) and runner-up Maine (82 points) in a race that featured 28 teams.
Providence's Niamh O'Mahony won the individual championship in 17:08.18, followed by Maine's Helen Shearer. More than 250 runners competed.
The Wildcats' other point-scorers were senior Ella Malone (Portsmouth, N.H./19th, 18:18.59), sophomore Mia Carbone (Meriden, Conn./36th, 18:35.69) and senior Lauren Boilard (San Francisco, Calif./44th, 18:43.11).
