Women's Soccer Completes Fall Roster

DURHAM, N.H. – University of New Hampshire women's soccer head coach Steve Welham has announced the addition of eight incoming freshmen and two graduate transfers to the Fall 2025 roster.
Abby Beasley (Fishers, Ind.) is a central defensive midfielder/center back who starred at Cathedral High School and with Indy Eleven Pro Academy (ECNL). A four-year starter and team captain as a senior, she owns the school record for career points (112) with 45 goals and 22 assists.
Beasley earned United Soccer Coaches Fall Central All-Region honors as a junior and senior, was a two-time Indiana Soccer Coaches Association First Team All-State pick, and garnered Academic All-State recognition each of her final two seasons. With Indy Eleven, she helped her ECNL squad reach the final four.
"Abby brings size, strength, power and is a wonderful aerial presence," Welham said. "She has a lot of tools to help secure the play defensively in the back line or the midfield."
Amber Clarke (Cato, N.Y.) joins the Wildcats as a forward/striker from Cato-Meridian High School. A National Honor Society member, Clarke set the school's single-season scoring record with 23 goals and broke the individual-game mark with six. She tallied 18 goals and four assists each of her final two seasons.
Clarke was a three-time First Team Liberty 2 League selection, a four-time Auburn Citizen All-Star, and twice earned All-Class B First Team honors. She capped her junior year as Liberty 2 League Player of the Year and Auburn Citizen Player of the Year. Clarke plays club soccer for SDA (Syracuse Development Academy – GA) under the direction of coach Brooke Barbuto.
"Amber is a goal scorer with a lot of upside," Welham stated. "She is quick, dynamic, loves to go 1v1 and is dangerous in the attacking third. She is also incredibly versatile as a player, making her a little of a Swiss army knife."
Nina Ciri (Hopkinton, Mass.) is a defender out of Buckingham Browne & Nichols School. A five-year varsity player, she helped BB&N capture four Independent School League titles and back-to-back NEPSAC Class A championships. With FC Stars ECNL, Ciri brings experience at the highest youth level to the UNH back line.
"Nina is a consistent and very solid defender," Welham said. "She is good in the air, can organize and lead the back line, and is strong in the tackle."
Angelena Deluhery (Bethlehem, Pa.) adds versatility as a midfielder/forward from Moravian Academy. A three-year captain, she led the team to four straight district titles and earned the overall MVP award and Offensive MVP. Deluhery spent nearly a decade with Penn Fusion Soccer Academy (Craig Scangarella), earning ECNL Girls North Atlantic First Team All-Conference honors and a Second Team nod in previous seasons.
"Angel is someone who loves to play with the ball at her feet," Welham stated. "She is very technical, quick, has great vision and can be a threat in the final third."
Alyssa Gimmel (North Ridgeville, Ohio) is a forward/winger from North Ridgeville High School and a Cleveland Force ECNL club player. A Lorain County Soccer Coaches Association Player of the Year, she was a two-year First Team All-Conference and First Team All-County selection, and earned All-Ohio Greater Cleveland and All-Greater Cleveland honors. Gimmel maintained a 3.5 GPA throughout high school and was a member of the National Honor Society.
"Alyssa is a tenacious player who is extremely versatile, technical and dynamic," Welham said. "She brings a certain grit and edge to the game that is rare these days. We are excited for her future."
Emma Kucal (Cumberland, R.I.) is a forward/striker out of Cumberland High School and Rhode Island Surf. A three-time United Soccer Coaches First Team All-State and three-time United Soccer Coaches All-New England honoree, she also earned All-American distinction twice. As a sophomore, Kucal was named Rhode Island Gatorade Player of the Year after totaling 20 goals and 19 assists, and in her junior campaign she captured Rhode Island Surf Soccer Club Player of the Year honors while helping Surf to a DPL national final. Kucal capped her senior season with 33 goals and 17 assists to guide Cumberland to the state finals.
"We feel Emma comes in a bit under the radar and will turn some heads," Welham stated. Emma is very strong and has a low center of gravity, making it difficult to take the ball off and she is someone who can score goals."
Riley Mitza (Tyngsborough, Mass.) is a forward from Tyngsborough High School, where she was a four-year varsity standout. Mitza was named Midland-Wachusett League MVP in 2023 and 2024, was a four-time League All-Star and three-time Massachusetts All-State selection. She holds school records for goals in a single season (36), career goals (115) and career points (145), and was Lowell Sun Girls Soccer Player of the Year in 2024.
Mitza was also a defender for FC Stars ECNL (one of the top clubs in the nation), where she excelled under the tutelage of Jason Dewhurst and Grame Blackman.
"Riley is a tough blue collar defensive player who has speed, technical ability and awareness to excel in wide areas and especially in 1v1 duels," Welham said.
Olivia Moynihan (Long Island, N.Y.) comes in as a goalkeeper from Suffolk County. A three-time All-League and two-time All-County pick, she was named Suffolk County Goalkeeper of the Year in 2024 and earned Newsday First Team All-Long Island and New York State All-State honors. Moynihan was also twice named among Newsday's Top 100 Long Island Girls Soccer players and rated a TopDrawerSoccer three-star prospect with her ECNL club team EMSC playing for Jaime Gonzalez.
"Olivia is a talented young goalkeeper who possesses great agility, quick reflexes and can command the box," Welham stated. "We are looking forward to her future."
Lauren Walker (Essexville, Mich.) is a graduate transfer forward from Central Michigan University, where she played in 52 games with 35 starts, seven goals – including two game-winners, four assists and 18 points in three seasons. As a junior in 2024, Walker tied for the team lead in goals (five), assists (two) and points (12) in playing all 18 games; she scored two game-winning goals and set up another. Walker was named to the Academic All-MAC Team for the second consecutive year and also garnered CSC Academic All-District Team recognition.
In 2023, Walker appeared in all 16 games (14 starts) and split time between right wing and back, logged 1,247 minutes with six full 90-minute matches, scored her first collegiate goal, and assisted on a game-winning tally. As a sophomore in 2022, she started all 18 contests, notched a goal and totaled 1,619 minutes on the pitch.
At Garber High School, Walker was Senior Athlete of the Year, MLive Bay Area Player of the Year and a multi-sport varsity standout., With Bay Area Soccer Association, she helped secure three MMYSL and Premier 2 league titles.
"Lauren brings consistency and versatility and has a wealth of collegiate experience under her belt," Welham said. "She can play centrally along the back line as well in other areas of the field. We are excited to have Lauren for her final year of eligibility along with her size, strength and power."
Ricshya Walker (Philadelphia, Pa.) is a graduate transfer forward from La Salle University and a member of the Jamaica Women's National Team. In three seasons at La Salle, Walker played 48 games with 35 starts, 10 goals – including three game-winning goals, three assists and 23 points.
In 2024, she played in 18 games (17 starts), ranked second on the team with five goals, launched 42 shots and recorded a hat trick in a 5-1 win over Temple. As a junior in 2023, Walker earned Second Team All–Atlantic 10 recognition and made the A-10 Commissioner's Honor Roll while appearing in 19 games (11 starts) and tallying five goals, including two against Seton Hall. During her freshman campaign in 2022, she was named to the A-10 All-Rookie Team and Commissioner's Honor Roll after contributing three goals and two assists in 11 games (seven starts).
"Shya will be a handful for any team to deal with," Welham said. "She is an absolute force, extremely powerful, athletic and has the ability to turn a game. She is gifted technically with both feet, making her dangerous in tight areas on the ground, and can dominate aerially as well. We are excited for her future here at UNH!"
UNH wrapped up the 2024 season with a 12-5-1 record after finishing as runner-up in both the America East regular season and tournament. The Wildcats made their third America East championship game appearance in the last four years (2021, 2022, 2024), while winning it all in 2022 and underscoring the program's sustained success and setting the stage for this talented incoming class to contribute immediately.
