DURHAM, N.H. - University of New Hampshire women's basketball head coach Megan Shoniker has rounded out the 2025-26 roster with the additions of transfer Jamie Kent (Dublin, Calif.) and incoming freshman Alia Cordone (Davis, Calif.).
"From the West Coast to the East Coast, I want to welcome our two newest Wildcats," Shoniker said. "Jamie and Alia are two amazing young women that will fit seamlessly into our program and the UNH community."
Kent, a 6-foot forward, joins UNH after spending two seasons at the University of the Pacific. She appeared in 22 games with four starts in 2024-25, recording six games with six or more points and 10 games with at least four rebounds — including four outings with nine or more boards. Her season was highlighted by a 12-point, 13-rebound double-double against Pepperdine. As a freshman, she appeared in four games. A standout at Carondelet High School, Kent averaged 12.6 points and 10.2 rebounds per game as a senior and earned numerous awards and accolades, including East Bay league Honorable Mention, West Coast Jamboree MVP, Nike TOC MVP and the Sabrina Ionescu MVP.
What Coach Shoniker Says
"Jamie has a motor that does not stop, on and off the court! When you watch her, she plays the game with such energy and pace, she looks like the Energizer Bunny out there! What I love most about her is her ability to rebound – Jamie is relentless on the boards and plays much bigger than her height. Playing in the West Coast Conference for the past two years, she has competed against high-level teams, and that level of experience will benefit our team greatly. I believe Jamie's best basketball is ahead of her and I am glad she is a Wildcat!"
Cordone, a 6-foot-2 forward, brings versatility and size to the frontcourt. She spent the 2024-25 season at Western Reserve Academy after a decorated high school career at Davis Senior High School, where she was a two-time team captain and earned First Team All-League recognition as a senior. That year, she averaged 13.4 points, 7.9 rebounds, 2.5 assists, and 1.9 steals per game while leading her team in both scoring and assists.
What Coach Shoniker Says
"Alia brings size, length, and versatility to our roster. She has the skill set to play inside and outside, she can score in a variety of ways, and defensively, she can guard multiple positions. The most underrated part of her game is her ability to pass – she has great court vision and feel for the game. At Western Reserve, she has played with and against some of the best high school players in the country and that will help make her transition to the college level smoother. I couldn't be more excited that she chose UNH, and I look forward to watching her develop over the next four years!"
