Fauria Scores Career-High 19 Points in 76-64 Loss at Green Bay

GREEN BAY, Wis. – Senior forward Camryn Fauria (North Attleborough, Mass.) scored a career-high 19 points but the University of New Hampshire women's basketball team was defeated 76-64 by Green Bay at Kress Center on Thursday afternoon.
Fauria led all players in points and rebounds (six). Sophomore guard Elizabeth Lavoie (Hampstead, N.H.) finished with 15 points and also pulled down six rebounds.
Junior guard Maggie Cavanaugh (Point Pleasant Beach, N.J.) and freshman guard Carolina Williams (Valatie, N.Y.) both finished with a career-high six assists. Cavanaugh also had eight points, three rebounds and a steal while Williams had three points, three rebounds and three steals.
Green Bay's Carly Duffney led five Phoenix players in double digits with 13 points.
UNH moves to 1-3 overall Green Bay is 4-0.

FIRST QUARTER
- Lavoie's layup pulled the Wildcats within 11-7 at 4:35 but Green Bay ended the quarter on a 12-5 spurt to build a 23-12 advantage through 10 minutes.
SECOND QUARTER
- Lavoie made a layup, pulled down and defensive rebound and hit a 3-pointer to pull UNH within 34-21 at 2:50.
- Sydney Lusher (Oneida, N.Y.) drained back-to-back 3-pointers to trim the deficit to single figures, 36-27, at 1:04.
- GB's Kamy Peppler made a pair of free throws on the next possession to give the Phoenix a 38-27 lead going into halftime.
THIRD QUARTER
- Green Bay gradually extended the advantage to 20 points, 55-35, on Meghan Schultz's basket at 3:41 and the home team led by 20 through three quarters.
FOURTH QUARTER
- Kristina Ouimette's 3-pointer pushed the margin to 69-45 at 7:25.
- Lusher hit another 3-ball and Fauria made consecutive baskets to lift the 'Cats within 69-52 at 5:37.
- A free throw by Lily Hansford stopped the 7-0 run, but UNH inched closer when Cavanaugh's 3-pointer and Fauria's layup made it 70-57 at 4:18.
- Two more Fauria layups advanced the score to 73-61 at 2:38, but the Wildcats would not score again until the closing seconds.
UNH NOTEBOOK
- Williams made her first career start. Her three steals also marked a career high and she matched her personal best with the three rebounds.
- Lavoie and Lusher both shot 3-for-5 from 3-point range.
- Junior guard Eva DeChent (Westchester, N.Y.) entered the game ranked #9 in the nation in scoring (25.0 ppg) but was held to four points, all from the foul line.
- DeChent did contribute five rebounds, four assists and two blocks.
GAME NOTEBOOK
- UNH outrebounded Green Bay 29-27, including 6-2 on the offensive glass and that led to an 11-2 advantage in second-chance points.
- The Wildcats also limited the Phoenix to two fastbreak points.
